Long Island Love Story: Kaleigh and Demetri

As a wedding planner, every couple's journey to the altar is unique, but some weddings hold a special place in your heart. The union of Kaleigh and Demetri Arnidis on December 2nd, 2023, was not just a celebration of love but a fusion of cultures, traditions, and a beautiful friendship that transcended professional boundaries.

Kaleigh and Demetri's story began as a classic tale of high school sweethearts. Their love stood the test of time, leading them to the momentous occasion at the stunning Stonebridge Country Club in Smithtown, NY. Being intimately familiar with the bride, having worked alongside her in the event industry for years, and sharing the same maiden name (shout out to the COLAVITOS), this wedding held a personal significance for me as their wedding planner and dear friend.

One of the most striking aspects of Demetri's background is his Greek heritage, stemming from a large, tight-knit family. On the other hand, Kaleigh hails from an Irish-Italian family, rich in traditions and warmth. It was essential for us to weave elements of both cultures into the fabric of their special day, honoring their roots while creating unforgettable moments.

The ceremony took place at the St. Paul Greek Orthodox Church, a nod to Demetri's heritage. The rich traditions of the Greek Orthodox ceremony lent an air of solemnity and reverence to the proceedings, as the couple exchanged vows surrounded by their loved ones.

Following the ceremony, guests were transported to the enchanting Stonebridge Country Club, where the reception awaited. Bleu Sparrow Events adorned the venue with stunning floral arrangements, infusing the space with elegance and romance.

One of the highlights of the evening was the live painter, Katherine Gressel, who captured the magic of the reception in real-time, immortalizing the love and joy shared by Kaleigh and Demetri and their guests. It was a unique touch that added an artistic flair to the celebration.

The cocktail hour was a sensory delight, featuring an exquisite espresso station courtesy of Dolce & Gelato Catering. Guests were treated to freshly brewed espresso martinis, a nod to Kaleigh's Italian heritage, which left everyone buzzing with excitement.

Throughout the evening, Marc Bauman and Elia Alexandropoulous kept the energy high with their electrifying DJ sets, while Jeff LeBlanc serenaded the crowd with his soulful melodies during cocktail hour.

The reception was not just a celebration of love but a cultural tapestry, with elements of Greek traditions seamlessly integrated into the festivities. From lively dances to heartfelt toasts, every moment resonated with the couple's unique heritage and the love they shared.

As the night came to a close, it was clear that Kaleigh and Demetri's wedding was more than just a union of two souls; it was a celebration of family, friendship, and the beautiful celebration of cultures that make life rich and meaningful. It was an honor to be part of their special day. I wish them a lifetime of love, happiness, and adventures ahead.
